What is Master's Commission?
The purpose of Master's Commission is to disciple young people, raising them to be strong Christians who will be ready to disciple others and change their world. It is a 9-month discipleship-training program for those who have a heart to ascend to the next level in their Christian walk. It is designed for those individuals who have a hunger to know God more intimately and proclaim that knowledge of Him to those who do not know Him. Master's Commission offers hands-on ministry experience and Bible based training to each student. This hands on training translates into practical, real life ministry opportunities, which produce powerful life changes in each student. Over 80% if Master's Commission graduates end up working in full-time ministry.
Is Master's Commission only for those desiring Full-Time Ministry?
No. It is for those who have a sincere desire to be a cut above the norm and to be whole-hearted in their pursuit of the Lord. It is for those who want their live to be punctuated with destiny in their hearts. As serious Christians, we believe that whatever we do career-wise, whether it is a secular or church arena, should be done with the thought, "How can I further the Kingdom of God through this career field?"
What is a typical day at Master's Commission like?
Mornings will be spent largely in organized personal prayer, Bible study, scripture memorization and the required study courses. Afternoons and evenings will be spent in ministry training and hands-on ministry experience. Though much of the ministry is people-to-people, we will not be above doing servant hood tasks. Running errands, cleaning the church, and helping with mailings, etc., to name a few. Our goal is to develop Christ-like character, integrity, discipline, and servant hood in each student.
Is everyone who applies going to be accepted?
While we believe that everyone would benefit greatly from Master's Commission, unfortunately God has not called everyone to participate in Master's Commission. We believe that it is crucial that your participation is in the will of God. We will prayerfully consider each application before the Lord. We also anticipate that you will be praying to receive confirmation of God's will yourself. This program is not open to just anybody. It is for those who are champions or desire to be champions for Jesus.
When does the program start and end?
The 2011-2012 Master's Commission school year begins September 19, 2011 and the program ends June 1, 2012. You will get 5 days off for Thanksgiving break and two weeks off for Christmas vacation.
Where will my student live during the nine-month school year?
Each student will live in a fully furnished apartment home located near the campus. Each apartment-home facility is gender based and is overseen by MAMC leadership.
What about Insurance?
Most insurance companies will still cover your student as they participate in the Master's Commission program. We have a special letter we can send them on your behalf that outlines their participation in Master's. Based on the class work as well as the ministry training most insurance companies will continue to provide insurance at the same student rate as they have for you in the past.
How much "spending money" or "gas money" does a student need?
Most students can make it easily on $100 a month.
When the program has been completed, what type of career opportunities will he/she be elegible for?
There are a wide variety of ministry opportunities afforded to a Student who completes 2 or 3 years of Master's Commission Training. Every year there are multiple ministry job openings listed through the Master's Commission International Network from local churches looking specifically for Master's Commission graduates. About 80% of Metro Atlanta Master's Commission third year intern graduates enter full-time ministry. The Body of Christ is beginning to recognize the validity and strength of Master's Commission as a viable means of ministry training.

How does getting a four-year degree in two years work?  What are the requirements?
Students will complete the five various modules in each class to complete their degree.  The length of completion is completely up to each individual student.  The syllabus for each class outlines the method for a student to finish a class every two weeks, typically, in the bachelor degree program. Sample classes are available on line that will address what the requirements are like.
How many classes will I need to take to graduate?
All students are required to complete a minimum 30 hours (10 classes) to complete any degree.  There are no exceptions to this requirement.
How do Life Learning Credits work for Master's Commission Students?
Life Learning Credits (LLCs) is the recognition that students are having invaluable learning experiences in the real-world classroom, which should be recognized from an academic standpoint all Master's Commission Students will be granted 15 hours of LLCs for each year they have completed in a recognized MCIN program, with a maximum of 30 hours being awarded.  This means each MC Student will actually only have to take 90 credit hours (30 classes) in order to graduate, if they complete two years through MC.
What classes do Life Credits cancel out?
The classes "canceled out" by the LLCs will be determined individually for each student by their student advisor.  Each student will receive a degree plan within 2 weeks of enrolling in the program that will outline all required classes.
Will the credits I have now transfer, and if so, which credits transfer?
Before we can state exactly which credits will transfer we will need to evaluate the individual's transcript and then make an assessment.  We are, however, able to transfer over most credit hours where the student made a "C" or above in the class.
What is the benefit of having a degree versus just being credentialed?
Being credentialed is important, but having a degree is essential in ministry and our current culture! When Pastors or potential employers look at two qualified candidates they like equally, any time the deciding factor can be the educational background of the candidates.
If you do not want to go into ministry, what does a bachelor's degree in ministry do for me?
First of all, obtaining ANY bachelor degree should first be done because you want to personally accomplish this goal for your life.  Secondly, a bachelor can state exactly which credits will transfer, we will need to evaluate the individual's transcript and then make an assessment.  We are, however, able to transfer over most credit hours where the student made a "C" or above in the class.
Will the professors be academically qualified?
All WCBCS professors hold a degree for at least the level they are teaching.  In addition, they are proven leaders in their field who can give you the practical insight you need to succeed.  Some courses will even be taught by a team of teachers who can provide various viewpoints on any given subject.  We encourage everyone to go on the WCBC website and view their faculty programs to learn about all of their educators.
